Scope of this policy
This policy applies to information collected through the Alpha Delta Zeta website, including the Membership Interest List, General Contact Form, official application previews, and any application or member-support form that becomes active. It does not replace the privacy terms of a third-party website or service linked from this site.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, age-eligibility confirmation, contact message, membership or leadership application responses, references where required, member-support requests, electronic acknowledgments, and submission date. When payment services are activated, Alpha Delta Zeta will not collect or store complete card numbers on this website.
Automatic technical information
The website host and security providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, date and time, referral information, and security events. We do not use this website to sell personal information or build advertising profiles.
How we use information
We use information to send requested membership-opening notices; respond to messages; review applications and member requests; verify eligibility; coordinate orientations, events, service, and programs; maintain accurate Society records; protect safety and organizational integrity; prevent misuse; and meet legal, financial, governance, or recordkeeping responsibilities.
Membership Interest List
The Interest List is a nonfinancial notification list for women age 21 and older. Joining it is not an application for membership and does not create membership status. Contact information is used to send application-opening and closely related Founding Membership updates. A recipient may opt out at any time.
How information is shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared only with authorized Society reviewers and leaders who need it for an approved purpose; vendors that host, secure, process, or support Society operations; professional advisers when reasonably necessary; and government authorities or other parties when required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of a fair review.
Confidential and sensitive requests
Butterfly Sister Fund requests, dues-pause requests, incident reports, and similar sensitive submissions are limited to designated reviewers as much as reasonably possible. Absolute confidentiality cannot be promised when disclosure is required for safety, law, governance, financial controls, or a fair investigation.
Payments and contributions
Dues, donations, event payments, and other financial transactions are not currently active. If activated later, payment details will be entered directly with the approved payment processor and governed by that provider's privacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
The site may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for security, accessibility, session continuity, form protection, and reliable operation. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are added later, this policy and any required notice or consent choice will be updated before use.
Retention and deletion
Records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, organizational administration, legal obligations, safety, dispute resolution, and Society recordkeeping. Duplicate, expired, or no-longer-needed records may be securely deleted or de-identified according to an approved retention practice.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information collected, including restricted access and secure hosted storage. No website or electronic system can guarantee absolute security. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, complete payment-card numbers, organization tax identifiers, medical records, or other information that a form does not specifically request.
Children and age eligibility
The website is not directed to children under 13, and Alpha Delta Zeta does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Membership applicants and women joining the Membership Interest List must be at least 21 years old.
Your choices and requests
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you submitted; ask a privacy question; or opt out of Interest List messages through the Contact Form or the public email address. Some information may be retained when required for legal, financial, safety, governance, or recordkeeping reasons. We may need to verify identity before completing a request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Society, website, laws, or services change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version. Material changes will be communicated in a reasonable manner before they apply when required.
